The printing and packaging industry is thriving in Vietnam

The seminar was jointly organized by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GIC / AHK Vietnam) in cooperation with Messe Düssedorf Asia, with the participation of representatives of the Packaging Association and the Print Association of more than 200 Vietnam enterprises.

According to data from VDMA (German Manufacturing Association), the packaging industry for processed food in Vietnam will grow by 38% in the period 2015 - 2020, while the demand for machinery and materials needing for this growth will also increase by 25%. One of the challenges faced by the packaging and printing industry in the country is that the technology is not high, the design is simple and less productive, making it impossible for enterprises to really participate in the value chain and create sustainable profitability while  the domestic demand is increasing for consumer goods, food and expanding exports of products that need to be packaged. 

The significant solution that experts agreed is the application of new technology in production, application of new materials, investment in advanced production lines to increase efficiency and quality assurance.

At the workshop, Marko Walde, Chief Representative of the German Office for Industry and Trade in Viet Nam, emphasized the importance of exchanging information, experiences and technology transfer to promote trade cooperation. Between the two countries Germany and Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, President of Vietnam Printing Association, highly appreciated the support and cooperation from German enterprises to overcome the current challenges with the Vietnamese enterprises, thus enhancing the competitiveness, Improve technology and better serve the domestic market.

Representatives of Long Hau Corporation (LHC - investor of Long Hau Industrial Park projects) participated in the seminar and connected with the businesses of packaging and printing industry. Currently, Long Hau Industrial Park has attracted more than 160 investors, of which foreign investors account for nearly 50% from Japan, Korea, USA, France, Singapore ... thanks to the strategic location, near Ho Chi Minh City and the port (only 3km from Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc port, 3km from Cat Lai port and 25km from Cat Lai port and 12km from Phu My Hung urban center, 19km from Ho Chi Minh City center).
